How to care for a peace lily?

The leaves are turning brown and cracking on the tips of some of them. Am I doing something wrong? I water him about once a week, keep him out of direct sunlight...is there anything else I should know?

Thank You!!

How to care for a peace lily?
Peace Lillie's are sensitive to chlorine in our drinking water.

The easiest way to get rid of the chlorine, is to pour a bucket of water and leave it overnight and the chlorine will evaporate out of the water.

For now, you can tidy up the ends of your Peace Lillie by trimming off the ends with your garden scissors.

I just found a good site for you to have a read. It also mentions that chlorine in the water can cause the ends to go brown.

Reply:Peace lillies are a water plant. they will survive in nothing but water. Which means you can't over-water them. Keep it in direct sunlight and maybe give it a little fertilizer. Trimming discolored leaves help overall plant health. I wouldn't really worry about a little brown on the tips, as long as it's not spreading through the whole leaf.
Reply:Trimming with scissors will only cause it to turn brown again. It could be rootbound and need transplanting.
