Water Lily help!?

I have a 200 Gal Goldfish pond with water lily's and about 20 goldfish.... My lily is dying. Any idea why? I bought the lily at Walmart and for the longest time it was growing like crazy. Now all the leaves are changing colors and dying off? Do you think theres too much ammonia in the water from the fish???

Water Lily help!?
If the lily is from Walmart, chances are you got it in one of those "drop-in-and-go" mesh baskets? The mesh baskets are great for starters, but they lack the other macronutrients a lily needs to thrive. That's why they include the fertilizer tablets. I would recommend buying a "LRG SQUARE BASKET " from Amazon or a pond supply store, flling it with potting soil all around the lily roots, and top it off by a half inch of pea gravel. Push one fertilizer tablet into the center near the roots of the lily and cross your fingers. Good Luck!

P.S. I normally don't advocate the use of pond fertilizers or potting soil, as they typically lead to a macronutrient overload and fuel numerous algae problems. There are better ways to pot the lily once it recovers. Let me know when you are ready.
Reply:You do have too many fish. Have you got some sort of aerator?
