Do goldfish eat water lilies?

My goldfish eats everything, including the other goldfish, the frogs, and any plant near it. Which did include water lilies at one point but after the fish killed the plants I didn't buy more lilies....too expensive.

Do goldfish eat water lilies?
they might cuz they eat every plants on the tank
Reply:Yes they will. My goldfish ate every plant I put in the pond. They especially loved the water lettuce.

And just like AmunRa said, mine also killed other fish, frogs, and chewed the attennae off the snails. (Are those things on snails called antennae? Whatever they're called, they must've been tasty.)
Reply:they will eat at the edges until it goes brown and then move on, just like most fish outthere they will try anything once.
Reply:mine dont eat water lilys but they tend to suck on them maybe invest in pond snails to clean out the bacteria
Reply:I don't know!
Reply:Yes, when the all-seeing eye of the heron is not looking!
Reply:No they don't eat water lilies, they like lilies for the shade and oxygen it give the pond along with whatever they find to eat on the lilies
Reply:goldfish are omnivores, and do best on a 50-50 diet of meat/veggitation
Reply:no they dont eat water liliies, if they do they get stomach crumps.
Reply:Not here in Vermont! Maybe if you broke it up so it looked like fish flakes, they would eat them.
