a water lily grew extremely quickly and doubled its surface are each day. At the ens of the 30th day, it had entirey covered the pond in which it lived. If a 2nd water lily, identical to the first, had been in the pond, how long would it take 2 lilies have taken to cover the entire pont?

It doubles it's size every day, and if they grew in the same way, then it would only take 29 days. There isn't really any work to show on this one, it's more of a test of common sense question than anything else.
